Wedding: Robert Griffin III, free agent no longer

Robert Griffin III and Rebecca Liddicoat wedding kiss

You know by now that Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III married Rebecca Liddicoat Griffin Saturday in Denver.

Hog Heaven will not spend a lot of pixels on this story when others have done it already. We like the treatment that larrybrownsports.com gave it and recommend you go take a look there. We'll be here when you get back.

Here's a nugget from that story. The Liddicoat-Griffin rehearsal party was held at Mike Shanahan's Steakhouse in Denver, the bride's hometown. Coach Mike attended. Kyle was there, so was Mr. Snyder.

A Denver Post blogger wondered if those factoids pointed to a future Broncos signing of RGIII when he was a free agent in 2016. It must be Denver's thin air. Robert Griffin III shall never be a free agent.

'Skins fans should know that Griffin's next contract will be close to a 10-year, $150 million deal. Every contract Washington signs between now and then will be weighed by its potential hindrance to re-signing Griffin, exactly the issue the Colts once faced with Peyton Manning, now with the Broncos.

John Elway was RGIII's boyhood quarterback hero and Shanahan's Broncos his favorite team. The coincidences are stunning. Funny how life works out, isn't it.

We lifted from Larry Brown Sports the accompanying image of RGIII completing a forward pass to to his bride. That's the last tortured cliché used in this post. Hog Heaven closes with our favorite wedding toast to the lucky couple:

May you be as happy as I thought I would be when I got married.
