Chris Samuels is highest ranked Redskin in Madden 2009

Left tackle Chris Samuels and middle linebacker London Fletcher-Baker are the two highest ranked Redskins on Madden 2009. Each carry an overall rating of 96. Madden Football is more than a popular video football game. It's a simulation with players ranked by skills and teams by attributes, based on the run-up of their players. You can project the eventual Super Bowl winner by running Madden in simulation mode. Projections can be wrong, of course. I don't imagine that Derek Anderson and the Cleveland Browns were ranked very high on Madden 2008. The 10-6 Browns were a near miss on the division title and a surprise to everyone. The current version of Madden seems skeptical about the current version of the Redskins. Pro Bowler Cris Cooley carries a lower overall rank [92] than Cleveland tight end Kellen Winslow II [97]. Clinton Portis is ranked 91 overall, while Cleveland's Braylon Edwards is rated 95. That's the reason they actually play the games. Projects are just calculated guesswork of how things will turn out. Calculated guesswork is what Madden Football -- and blogs -- are all about. Washington and Cleveland will meet at FedEx Field on October 19. Here's Madden's calculated guesswork of the Redskins' top ten players and their overall rating:
  1. Chris Samuels, LT, 96
  2. London Fletcher-Baker, MLB, 96
  3. LaRon Landry, S, 93
  4. Randy Thomas, RG, 92
  5. Chris Cooley, TE, 92
  6. Clinton Portis, RB, 91
  7. Jon Jansen, RT, 90
  8. Carlos Rogers, CB, 89
  9. Marcus Washington, LB, 89
  10. Shawn Springs, CB; Cornelius Griffin, DL; Andre Carter, DE;, and Rocky McIntosh, LB, all ranked 88.

He might be on the money.BUT,Cooley should be higher and No special teams player listed is an oversight, as our Rock Cartright who does so much for the skins and is our Brian Mitchell, so to speak and does everything that could be asked.Wish we had a QB that could be in the top ten players,as you can’t find many teams without one listed.Madden knows more than most and is still enjoyable to hear.Good to see you back….

With Jansen, Thomas repecively rated at 90 and 92 — even after injuries, says a lot about their value to the Redskins o-line. Add Samuels at 96 and the Redskins have one of the better lines — potentially.
If these three stay healthy for the whole year will equate into a much more effective offensive unit in a long while. Last year, critical third down conversions and red zone effort was anemic, in my view. Much of this inability to convert was directly due to the injuries and juggling of personnel along the O-line.
We need one or two good years out of our tackles inorderto find and train replacements.

Rodgers higher than Springs, and Springs not in the top 10 on the team?
A certain three letter abbreviation that starts with a W and ends with an F comes to mind.
