Redskins announce Hall of Fame game ticket availability
Washington Redskins-Indianapolis Colts Hall of Fame game tickets will go on sale 11:00 a.m. EDT, Monday, April 14, according to a story appearing on redskins.com.
The Hall of Fame game will close a festive weekend when Redskins legends Art Monk and Darrell Green will be formally inducted in the NFL Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony will take place Saturday afternoon, August 2, 2008. The HoF game is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. EDT, Sunday, August 3.
Game tickets, priced at $50 for sideline and $40 for end zone seats, will be available through the Hall of Fame Web Site at http://www.profootballhof.com/, or toll free on 1-800-913-9788.
Supplies are limited, so I'm guessing the Hall of Fame will sell out its supply by 11:05 a.m. Not to worry, though. StubHub and other ticket scalpers brokers are already selling game tickets for $135 to $406 per seat.
Jim Zorn's opening drive
Jim Zorn will debut his west coast offense in his inaugural exhibition game. That extra game is an advantage for the Redskins who can use the extra work on transitioning from the down field passing / power running game that's been the team's trademark since before Joe Gibbs first tour.
The transition means we will likely see more of Jason Campbell than of the Colts' Peyton Manning. Exhibition games are the opportunity for your favorite depth players to show their stuff. I want to see how Marcus Mason, H.B. Blades, Bryan Westbrook, Chris Wilson and "Scarface" Alexander have improved their game. It will also be the fan's first look at players selected in the April draft.
The Redskins lead the league in away game tickets sold to fans. With No. 81 and No. 28 inducted into the Hall and the Skins playing in the game, I expect every Skins fan will be in Canton, Ohio, in person or in spirit, the first weekend of August.
